 Installation
Are
there any costs involved, other than the monthly fee?
No.

maintenance, and upgrades are included in this one low cost,
with no setup charges. Back to top
Will
SpamRejector™ work with my e-mail package?
Yes!
SpamRejector™ works with any mail server or mail client,
including Exchange/Outlook, GroupWise, I-Mail, Sendmail, and Notes,
to name
just a few. Back to top
Do
I need my own mail server to use SpamRejector™?
No.
Your e-mail can be hosted anywhere. The only requirement is that
you have your own domain name. We can assist you in acquiring a
domain name. Back to top
Will
SpamRejector™ work with my operating system?
Yes.
SpamRejector™ doesn't care whether you are running Microsoft,
Novell or UNIX it can integrate with any of them. SpamRejector™ authenticates
users via their existing mail system password no maintenance
is required. Back to top
How
long does it take to get SpamRejector™ installed and running?
We
need a couple of weeks lead time to build your SpamRejector™,
configure it for your specific environment, and install it. A rack-mounted
server may take a little longer. Installation at your site takes
an hour or less. Back to top
What
is the implementation process?
Our
well-defined outline of procedures assures a smooth, nondisruptive
installation of the SpamRejector™ into your network. After
we receive a signed quotation, we arrange a phone conference to
gather specific
information about your hardware, ISP, and network, so we can customize
SpamRejector™ for your organization. Click here for more installation
details. Back to top
What
happens if I don't know how to make the security changes needed
to install SpamRejector™?
NPI
provides detailed documentation of the necessary changes. In addition,
NPI can make all the necessary changes for the installation of
the SpamRejector™ at our technicians' normal hourly rates. Back
to top

installing SpamRejector™ disrupt my e-mail or network?
No.
We make sure all configuration changes and hardware adjustments

Security Will
SpamRejector™ protect the privacy of everyone's mailbox?
If
you allow individual users the ability to manage their own suspected
spam traps, then their trapped mail messages are viewed only
by those individuals and are protected from being seen by anyone
else. Back to top
What
is the antivirus software used in SpamRejector™?
F-Prot
for Linux (see f-prot.com for
details). F-Prot's developer is very active in various international
organizations that fight viruses
and has a strong market share in Europe. F-Prot does a great job
of catching viruses, and integrates easily by providing smooth
updates and high performance. We reserve the right to switch to
another product in the future (at no cost to you, of course), as
new products from a range of vendors are continuously being developed. Back
to top
How
does SpamRejector™ handle an incoming message with a virus
infection?
The
sender is immediately notified that the message could not be accepted
because it is infected. Your internal administrator receives an
e-mail notice that shows the sender, recipient, and subject of
the message, as well as the virus. Back
to top
Does
SpamRejector™ also scan outgoing mail for viruses?
Absolutely.
If you have chosen to have the antivirus scanning option on your
SpamRejector™, you can have all outgoing mail relayed off
the SpamRejector™ and
have all messages scanned for infections. Back

Operation
What
is a whitelist?
A
whitelist is a list of e-mail addresses, domain names, and mail
servers from which a spam blocking program will always allow
messages to be received. A whitelist ensures that messages from
your important clients, partners, and other contacts will always
be received. Back to top
Can
I see the blocked spam?
Yes.
You can easily view the SpamRejector™ traps via our Web interface. Back
to top
Will
my mail delivery slow down because of SpamRejector™?
No.
All legitimate mail will quickly and seamlessly pass through
the SpamRejector™ to your mail server. Back
to top
What
if I am away for a few days . . . will SpamRejector™ run on
its own?
SpamRejector™
holds suspected spam messages and accumulates them in the pending
trap. If no action is taken on those messages, they are held
for 30 days, after which they are deleted. Back
to top
I
have several domain names . . . how will this work?
SpamRejector™
handles all the e-mail messages addressed to your different domains,
just as your mail server does now. You can have all suspected
spam messages for all of your domains listed centrally in one
spam trap, or you can create and manage different spam traps
for each of your domain names. Back
to top
What
if a piece of legitimate mail gets caught in the spam trap?
How do we find and release it?
You
can at any time review the spam trap via our Web interface to
find the legitimate message. To release it, simply chose "Accept" from
the action pull-down menu. The advanced query feature helps you
easily find only those messages that meet your search criteria
(such as the sender's e-mail address). Back
to top
Can
I install other software on the SpamRejector™ server?
No.
SpamRejector™ is dedicated to the NPI anti-spam service
and is not part of your regular server environment. NPI staff
can provide
custom mail handling features as desired. Back
to top
How
long is suspected spam held in the spam trap?
Spam
is held for 30 days by default. This setting can be customized
to your needs. Back to top
Can
notices be generated and sent to users telling them they have
suspected spam held in the pending trap?
Absolutely.
It's very easy to configure SpamRejector™ to send a customized
message to users notifying them that they have messages held in
the trap. Back
to top
